Your base camp awaits

The big brands, tech startups and global empires get most of the attention, but there is a type of business that is as hard to build and is usually forgotten: the solo businesses building towards freedom, income and impact.

A solo business does not mean a solo journey. The Impact Collab is your base camp to find the support, tools and guidance to help you endure the journey of impact entrepreneurship.

We connect two kinds of members.

Applications close 16 November 2026

Impact founders

Your consulting, coaching or business works to bring about positive change for people and planet. Your work aligns with at least one UN Sustainable Development Goal, and you are seeking support to get you there.

Service providers

Your work, experience and expertise helps impact founders bring about positive change. Your expert knowledge and guidance provides integral support in areas such as sales, marketing, operations, pricing and strategy.

Life before vs after The Impact Collab

Running it alone

  • Connection

You work alone and feel isolated as you build towards your vision.

  • Business support

You work out the hard parts on your own. It takes up your time and feels frustrating.

  • Accountability

Plans stay plans. You react to each demand each day and struggle to stay accountable to a strategy and goal.

  • Visibility

You post and hope the right people will notice. No one to help spread the word.

  • Impact

You hope your work adds up to something. You struggle to find proof of the meaning of your work.

Inside The Impact Collab

  • Connection

You meet peers every Monday and talk with people who get it.

  • Business support

Each month, you join an expert and a group of up to three peers to work on your business.

  • Accountability

Virtual co-working and two-part expert pods keep you accountable to showing up and finishing your priorities.

  • Visibility

Your work is shared in a close community, where members cheer each other on.

  • Impact

You can identify the UN Global Goal you support, and your paid membership gives a Global Goalie access to the community.

Our impact

Our mission

We create access to decent work and economic growth for impact-led founders, so they can share what they know with the people closest to the problems.

UN Global Goal 8: Decent work and economic growth

Goal 8

Decent work and economic growth

The Expert Pods help you turn what you know into income, run with less friction, be seen by the right people and stay well while you do it.

UN Global Goal 17: Partnerships for the goals

Goal 17

Partnerships for the goals

Through Global Goalies, you nominate an organisation working directly on a UN Global Goal, and each paid membership gives it time in the community to scale what it does.

What you get

Guidance, resources and support for the climb

Connection

Curated connection, not networking

You will build relationships with like-minded, values-aligned people through activations like our Monday Yarns, virtual networking, small group skill sharing and a highly active Slack. We are a community first, not an audience, designed for connection and collaboration from day one.

Business support

Move from learning to doing

Impact

Enhance your positive impact

We deliver impact beyond your business. Paying members nominate one impact organisation as their Global Goalie, with access to the community for six months for support, resources and guidance.

How it works

  1. 1

    Apply

Tell us about you and your work. If a member referred you, name them. It improves your chances of an interview.

  2. 2

    A conversation with Abbey

If your application fits, we talk through your goals, where you want support and how the community works.

  3. 3

    Start with your first pod

Once you are accepted, you pay only $5 to join a pod of up to four attendees with one expert on a part of your business that needs help. You get a month inside the community. At the end of the month, if the fit is right, you are invited to join the Impact Fam.

Then choose your path

There is no fixed curriculum and no attendance requirement. Take the opportunities that suit you.

Member path

Monday Yarn, virtual coworking and the social media club are open to every member. Expert Pods are gated by level and suit more established business owners. Foundation Pods are for people at the start of their journey on a pillar. Earn a badge for each pillar where you score 8 or higher. Your badges show on your profile. With a pillar badge you can host an Ask Me Anything, teaching the outcome you achieved. Hosting makes you bookable for paid one-to-one coaching on that pillar, for members who want to know how you did it. Score 8 or higher on all five pillars and you become an Impact Architect, which opens paid coaching at higher rates. Nominate a Global Goalie. It is buy one, give one.

Expert path

Join a second pod and you can host your own. Host once, then commit to hosting every six months, and you hold the one exclusive spot for your specialty. The Impact Collab becomes the place you work from. Offer paid coaching and packages inside the community. Collect pillar badges and your coaching rates rise. Nominate a Global Goalie. It is buy one, give one.

Hear from our members

Madeleine Jaine LobseyFounder, Wonderplay Social Enterprise
"I joined the Impact Collab early this year, because I wanted to be surrounded by impact driven people. I stayed because of the people, so welcoming, so open and knowledgeable."
Angela MayerSustainability Consultant
"How great is this community? I have felt the love even through Slack and I am so excited about meeting some people in person this week at the co-working day. Thanks for multiplying the effect of social good."

Yvette NehmeConsultant
"Joining The Impact Collab was a game-changer. I went from feeling isolated as a purpose-led founder to being surrounded by a values-aligned community that gets it. The support, planning tools, and connections I have gained through the Global Goalie Project have reshaped the future of my charity. I have been challenged (in the best way), supported by a mentor, and reminded that even when working independently, we are part of something much bigger."

Frequently asked questions

What is The Impact Collab?

The Impact Collab is a community providing support, connection and guidance for purpose-led founders, consultants, solopreneurs and experts. It is a month-to-month paid membership with no lock-in contract. Capped at 150 members.

Who is The Impact Collab for?

The Impact Collab is designed for purpose-led solopreneurs, founders, consultants, coaches and experts, across Australia, New Zealand and South East Asia. We cater to two kinds of members: Impact Founders, whose work contributes directly to the UN Global Goals, and Service Providers, whose work helps make impact founders' work more sustainable and scalable.

What does it cost?

Membership is $79 a month. Start your trial by 1 December and join by 31 December, and that price is locked for as long as you stay. From 1 January 2027, membership is $89 a month. Your first pod costs $5 and comes with a month inside the community.

How does the $5 first pod work?

Once you are accepted, you start with a pod for $5. We choose the right pod for you based on your application. You will join up to four attendees, chosen for peer learning, and one expert who focuses on the part of your business that needs help. Pods run in two parts, which gives you the best chance of following through. The $5 also gets you a month inside the community. At the end of the month, if the fit is right, you are invited to join the Impact Fam.

Is there a lock-in contract?

No. Membership is month to month with no lock-in contract. If you join at $79 by 31 December, that price stays locked for as long as you are a member.

What happens after I apply?

We read your application. If it fits, we will set up a conversation with Abbey about your goals, where you want support and how the community works. If you are accepted, we choose your first pod and you start for $5, with a month inside the community. If a member referred you, name them in your application, because it improves your chances of an interview. A place is not guaranteed because someone applies. We welcome about five new members a month, so everyone has time to get to know each other.

Do I have to attend every event in the community?

No. There is no fixed curriculum and no attendance requirement. Monday Yarn, virtual coworking and the social media club are open to every member, so take the opportunities that suit you and your week.

Why only about five new members a month?

We welcome about five new members a month, up to about 15 a quarter, spread across the month so everyone has time to get to know each other and we can get the fit right.

Which Expert Pods can I join?

Topics are announced about a month before each pod. Priority access needs an application, and approved applicants get early access. Any remaining places open to the public two to three weeks before the event, and they are limited and rare.

Are there solidarity discounts?

Yes. Our Global Goalies project offers solidarity discounts to organisations and people contributing directly to the UN Global Goals who do not have traditional access. Global Goalies join to build skills and do not have hosting opportunities. Fill in the form to be told when applications open. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander founders, please email yaama@impactcollab.com.au so we can support you.

Is there a way to try the community for free?

Yes. Join a Monday Yarn event online, free for your first visit, such as speed friending or Connect with an Expert. Details are on our public events calendar.

What does hosting an Ask Me Anything involve?

You teach a specific outcome you have achieved, and contribute four hours a year. In return, you become bookable for paid one-to-one coaching on that pillar.

Can I join as an expert?

Yes. Start with your first pod like everyone else, then host your own. Pods score 9.2 out of 10 from the members who attend them, and 7 in 10 attendees say they would hire or refer their expert.
