1. Who we are
The Impact Collab ("The IC", "we", "us") is an Australian membership community for purpose-led consultants, coaches and service providers.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose and protect personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

We do not knowingly collect information from children under 16. Membership is intended for adults running professional businesses.
3. Why we use your information
We use personal information to:
- assess and process membership applications and waitlist entries;
- administer your membership, billing and access to the portal;
- run community programming, diagnostics and pod routing;
- display your profile in the member directory (see section 7);
- send service emails (onboarding, billing, session reminders);
- send marketing communications where you have opted in (newsletter);
- improve our website and services;
- comply with legal obligations and resolve disputes.
Our lawful bases include performing our contract with you, our legitimate interests in operating a safe community, and your consent where required (for example, marketing emails).
4. Disclosure to service providers
We use trusted providers who process data on our behalf:
| Provider | Purpose | Location |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Accounts, portal data, CMS | Sydney, Australia (ap-southeast-2) |
| Stripe | Payments and subscriptions | United States (and other regions) |
| Airtable | Diagnostic sync, community records | United States |
| Resend | Transactional email | United States |
| Luma | Event registration | United States |
| Slack | Community messaging | United States |
| Anthropic | AI-assisted blog drafting (admin only) | United States |
| Plausible | Privacy-friendly analytics | European Union |
| Vercel | Website hosting | Global edge network |
We require providers to handle information securely and only for the purposes we specify. Some providers store or process data outside Australia. Where we disclose information overseas, we take reasonable steps to ensure APP 8 obligations are met.
We do not sell your personal information.
5. Diagnostic and pillar scores
Your diagnostic responses and pillar scores are private by default. They are visible to you and to IC administrators who need them to operate programming and support you.
Other members cannot see your scores unless you explicitly opt in to showing your pillar strengths on your directory profile.
6. Member directory
Active members can browse a directory of other active members. By default, your directory listing may include your name, business name, tagline, expertise, interests, the Global Goals you map your work to, and links you add — plus your Slack profile link if you provide it. Community-wide alignment with each Global Goal (a percentage, never names) may also appear on the public Our Impact page.
You can hide your listing at any time by turning off directory visibility in your profile settings. Hidden members do not appear in directory search results.
7. Marketing and newsletters
We may send you occasional emails about the community, events or content. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the link in the email or by contacting us. Service emails about your membership (billing, access, important community notices) are not marketing and may still be sent while you are a member.
8. Cookies and analytics
We use Plausible Analytics, which does not use cookies and does not track you across other websites. We do not use advertising pixels or sell analytics data.
If we add cookie-based tools in future, we will update this policy and, where required, seek consent.
9. Security
We use industry-standard measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls, row-level security in our database, and restricted access to production systems. No online service is completely secure; please use a strong password and keep your login details confidential.
10. Retention
We retain personal information for as long as you are a member and for up to seven years afterwards where required for tax, accounting or legal purposes.
If you request account deletion, we remove or de-identify profile and directory data where we can, while retaining billing records we are legally required to keep.
11. Access, correction and deletion
You can view and update most profile information in the member portal. To request access, correction or deletion of other information, use the contact form. We will respond within a reasonable time (usually 30 days).
We may need to verify your identity before processing a request.
12. Data breaches
If we become aware of a data breach likely to cause serious harm, we will notify affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) as required by the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
13. Complaints
If you believe we have mishandled your personal information, contact us first through the contact form. We will investigate and respond.
If you are not satisfied, you may complain to the OAIC: oaic.gov.au.
14. Changes to this policy
We will publish updates on this page with a revised "last updated" date. Material changes will be communicated to active members where appropriate.
